Inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in the Underworld and contemporary theories on the neuroscience of memory, THE ORPHEUS VARIATIONS tells the story of a grief-stricken musician who goes on a journey through the sights and sounds of his memories in search of his vanished wife. The performance mimics the operations of the brain during the encoding and recalling of memories, and combines theatrical, cinematic, and radio-play vocabularies into an art house movie that is simultaneously created and experienced in real time.
